Logitech® Harmony® Advanced Universal Remote for Xbox 360!!!

Yes People, I am at my high priced electronic-spending pace once again (I really need to save more)! But I got sucked in. Basically, i was tired of controlling my TV, HD-DVR box, RCA wireless surround sound system, and XBOX 360 DVD player with 4 different remotes!!! It was crazy. So I decided to purchase a SMART remote control, that has an LCD screen on it and you can program it to learn any type of device with a remote control to it. It was really simple to set up. All I had to do was, install the software on my computer, connect the Smart remote to my computer using the USB cable that was supplied with the remote, and enter the names and Model numbers of the devices I was using in my entertainment system. After all that, I had to fine tune what devices I wanted to control different aspects of the system for example: I had to set my surround sound to control the volume for everything, no matter what I am playing (DVD, XBOX 360, watching TV, etc...), and I also had to set it so that my DVR box is ON 24-7 so I don't miss any of my scheduled recordings. This remote can pretty much do anything you need including programming lights in your theater to powering your A/C system. It will only set you back $129 plus tax...Its' a small price to pay for one of the last remotes you will ever have to buy. The software is fully upgradable online, so when new devices come out, you just simply have to go through the setup process again...

Manny Pacquiao KO's Erik Morales IN 3 ROUNDS!!!!

In boxing news, last night Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales put on the final chapter to their trilogy. Fight fans have been waiting for this one because these are probably the two best lightweight/featherweight fighters in the business. Erik Morales won the first controversial decision and in the second fight which was about 8 months ago Manny Pacquiao knocked Morales out in the 10th round. I pretty much knew it would be the same this time around and it was...as a matter of fact it was even worse! Manny ripped through his opponent for the total 3 rounds. Erik tried his absolute BEST to throw his most powerful punches, but nothing stopped the onslaught caused by Pacquiao. He was relentless and I don't think anyone in his weightclass can hang with him right now. Congrats Dog!!!

BIG GAMING NEWS THIS WEEKEND!!!

This weekend which is now sadly ending was a great one for the history of all gamers. The Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii finally launched after years of anticipation. Above, you will see all the 3 next-gen systems in all of their stunning glory. As I reported in the post below this one, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are so closely matched at this point that I do not see the need for me to purchase a PS3 just yet, as I already own an Xbox 360. You guys can scroll down and see the comparison videos for yourself. With that said, the wifey has talked me into getting a Nintendo Wii. We had the opportunity to play the Nintendo Wii yesterday at the New Gamestop that opened up right across the street from my apartment complex!!! It is awsome controlling the cars with the Wii-mote! Nice and simple and very enjoyable system. Here's what happed this weekend in Console Launches:

SONY PLAYSTATION 3 LAUNCH:

The PS3 Launch on 11/17/06 was INSANE! Many gamers lined up for a whole week just to get an opportunity to grab a PS3 on launch day. Many of the campers on line were robbed at gunpoint and one patron was even shot in the chest when he refused to give up his money. All that for a PS3...I sure hope he got one at least! But the story was the same all over the country. They only had about 100,000 PS3 for the entire country's launch, but Sony is trying to get another 400,000 units to the United States before the end of the year. I hope they can pull it off. Most people who bought a PS3 bought it just to put it up on ebay for sale where they are selling ON AVERAGE at $2,500! In Manhattan you can see the Sony Superstore had the CEO on hand to give out the first Sony PS3 to sell in the US!

NINTENDO Wii LAUNCH:

The Nintendo Wii launch on 11/19/06 (today) is also a little crazy as you can see from the camping lines above at a local Walmart, but the turnout wasn't nearly as dangerous and disasterous as the PS3 Launch. Many people even said they were having "a good time" waiting with fellow Nintendo fans for the Wii to drop. Nintendo is the only Next-gen system on the market which will actually sell for a profit per system. They originally targeted the system price under $100, but now they see that they can make $250 per unit and make even more profits. The system is also relatively easy to produce which is why the Wii will sell more than the PS3 this holiday season. You can see the first Nintendo Wii in the United States was sold to this dude wearing a Nintendo Power Glove who was there for a wopping 9 days early waiting on line!!! The Wii seems to have sold out everywhere already, but if you really want one, I am sure you will be able to find one in time for the holiday. Just check out your Best-Buy, Circuit City, and Toys R Us because they will get replenished often. On a side note, Nintendo Wii is selling for an average $500 on ebay...

Sony Playstation 3 Comes Out on Friday 11/17/06!!!

What's good folks! The Sony Playstation 3 is finally coming out in the United States This Friday 11/17/06. There are two different bundles available which are the $499 core system with a 20GB Hard Drive while the Deluxe system rings in at $599 and includes a 60GB Hard Drive and a Universal Card reader and a Wireless networking adapter. They can both play Playstation 1 and 2 games and the controller is almost identical to the previous installments of the machine. This time there is no rumble feature for the controller but instead a motion sensing capabilities (WACKNESS!!!). But at least they are wireless like the xbox 360's controller. They can both play Blu-Ray DVD's straight out of the box which is a big plus. You can also get free online gaming service as apposed to xbox live where you must pay an anual fee (but you get more out of it as well). All in all, the graphics of both systems look pretty identical. Here are some videos that show this example. I would buy a PS3 if there were some exclusive titles for the machine that I wanted or if it looked better than xbox 360 games. As a matter of fact, the game I just purchased, Gears of War, looks better than any game on the PS3 at this current time. 90% of the games I am interested will be available for both consoles with the same graphics. But, if I didn't have a 360 right now, I would consider the purchase....Good luck to all those people who will be on line 2-3 days in advance at your nearest Best Buy, Circuit City, Toys R Us, PC Richards, etc....

The #1 Heavyweight Champ of the World Proves it Again Last Night!

That's right people, I am talking about the Heavyweight Champ with the most credibility to his name right now, Wladimir Klitschko! He just took out undefeated Calvin Brock Last night making his first title defense after capturing it from Chris Byrd last year. Klitschko and Brock were fighting pretty evenly after the first 4 rounds. Klitschko, the taller man was able to establish his jab throughout the fight, while Brock was connecting with some thumping body shots. In the 5th round we started to see fireworks as both men were landing shots but Klitschko's shots were doing the most damage as Brock had a cut over one eye and a welt under the other. Klitschko was accidentally headbutted in the round which made him speed up his delivery. In the seventh round it was all Klitschko as he threw straight right hands and started landing them at will until one hard right caught him perfectly and Brock fell to the canvas face first. He got up on an 8 count, but the ref called it off. Great fight and it was also free on showtime! So I guess we will just have to make due with only one US born Heavyweight champ right now...Shannon Briggs who captured a title last week...(see story below). There are a total of 4 heavyweight champs right now, but there will probably soon be unification matches in the near future to determine an undisputed Champ....Can't wait for the negotiations!

XBOX 360 Wireless Headset!!!

Wussup People! I just purchased some more Xbox 360 Goodness! I got the Xbox 360 bluetooth wireless xbox live headset. This thing is awsome. It was a steep $60 price tag, but it is well worth it if you are used to talking/playing online games with your buddies. It is extremely light, and i forgot I was even wearing it. It comes with a battery charger that plugs right into the unit, so you don't have to buy batteries. The mute button and volume controls are right on the earpiece so everything is in a compact form. You can also use up to 4 of these babies together on one system, so when your friends come over with theirs for LAN/Online games, everyone can use their (4) wireless controllers and their (4) wireless headsets without interference. This is exactly what I need for comfort when playing those new games coming out later this week....Next Story Gears of War on Wednesday....

Mayweather and Briggs Win World Champ Titles!!!

Yo, Yo, Yo!!! Its boxing time again and my favorite boxer Floyd Mayweather finally got his chance to take on the welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir, the Argentinian who beat Zab Judah and Gatti last year. I was watching HBO PPV boxing last night to see it all go down! Just like everyone expected, Floyd Mayweather Jr, beat the crap out of Baldomir for all 12 rounds. He never knocked him down, to the dissappointment of some fans, but he stunned him on several occasions and had Carlos missing and looking sloppy for the entire fight. It was very easy for Floyd to land at will and take the 3 Welterweight championship Belts that Baldomir sported into the ring. It was almost like Floyd was in the gym with a sparring partner. I don't think anyone can beat him! He is at the top of the Boxing World! In the post-fight press conference, Mayweather said he wanted to fight one more fight (mind you he is only 29 years old with a flawless 36-0 record) and retire for good. I don't think he will retire that early, but no matter what he does, he is one of the greatest of all time in my opinion!

In Heavyweight Action, which also went down last night, but on a Free Showtime Channel, we had Shannon Briggs of Brooklyn, NY taking on Sergei Liakhovich of the former Soviet Union. Sergei was the WBO Heavyweight champion (one of 4 recognized world champ belts) and was a slight favorite coming into the fight. The fight was pretty boring all the way up to the final 30 seconds of the final 12th round when Shannon Briggs turned on the heat and started unloading some seriously hard shots to the champs Head. Sergei hit the canvas and almost goes the ropes. He regained his composure and was able to stagger to his feet at about an 8 count. Briggs started to stalk him down and hit him with a HUGE right and knocked him clear through the ropes and onto the timer table! The ref called off the fight with only one second left to go. Shannon Briggs wins the upset victory and brings a Heavyweight title back the USA in historic fashion! Awsome Job...Also, Sergei was pretty much in control of the entire fight and if he could have stayed on his feet for the final round, even if he only suffered one knockdown, he would have still won the fight...Even if he could have gotten up after the second knockdown, he would have kept his belt on a draw!!! Oh well! Thank you BRIGGS!!!!
