STILL A GAMER FOR LIFE!!!

So, I haven't updated you guys on games in a while!!! So here is what I am playing these days...

Up first is Halo 3. Need I say more? You guys heard about it for the past 2 weeks on each and every advertising tool known to man. They sold $300 million in one week!!!! I already beat the game and I have only played online a few times, but if you guys don't know about Halo 3...then here is the press release:
The epic saga continues with Halo® 3, the hugely anticipated third chapter in the highly successful and critically acclaimed Halo franchise. Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax. Halo 3 represents the third chapter in the Halo trilogy—an international award-winning action series that grew into a global entertainment phenomenon, selling more than 14.5 million units worldwide, logging more than 650 million hours of multiplayer action on Xbox LIVE®, and spawning action figures, books, a graphic novel, apparel, an upcoming film adaptation, and more.

Next Game that is getting my time is Forza 2. It is a super-hot Racing Simulation Game with so many cars and upgrade options. You can even paint your car with all kinds of designs and images; then sell them online for Forza money (not real money). You can upgrade just about anything in the game from brakes, to tires, to springs, to CAMs and everything else in between. Here is the official press release:
With authentic simulation physics, bone-jarring damage, photo-realistic graphics, and licensed tuning and customization options, the franchise improves on the unprecedented features gamers enjoyed in its debut installment. Loaded with more than 300 of the world's hottest cars for you to collect, personalize and tune, "Forza Motorsport 2" gives you a complete racing experience.

The Last game in my extensive collection is Stranglehold. If you are a Max Payne fan, then this game is definitely for you. It is ALL OUT ACTION. You use your environment to your advantage to take back the streets. The game is actually directed by John Woo and has one of the most popular action stars as the main character...Chow Yun-Fat. Here is the Press Release:
Acclaimed action director John Woo presents Stranglehold, a stunning 3rd-person action adventure videogame for the PC. A “spiritual sequel” to Woo’s action masterpiece, “Hard Boiled,” Stranglehold redefines the action gaming experience with its acrobatic gunplay, thrilling cinematography, frenetic combat and incredible Massive Destructibility (Massive D). Chow Yun-Fat reprises his signature role as Inspector Tequila, pitting gamers as a take no-prisoners cop waging a personal war with Hong Kong crime lords. Tequila’s loyalties to the force are tested when his ex-wife is kidnapped by the Russian mob in Chicago. Tequila struggles to balance his duty to uphold the law with doing what it takes to save his family.

These are all good games and I highly recommend All three depending on what type of gaming you are into....Now I just have to scrounge up some change to purchase Bioshock for my girl...

Boxing Updates!!!!

Wussup everybody! It is definitely time to hit you guys with some boxing updates to let you know how everything is shaping up...

First fight I have is The Jermaine Taylor Vs. Kelly Pavlik. Now I always knew that Jermaine Taylor was not a great fighter. He isn't an attacking fighter. He would rather go round for round and not have someone in his face attacking him every second. And i was correct! After Kelly Pavlik beat one of my favorite fighters a few months back named Edison Miranda, I knew that he would easily defeat Jermaine Taylor...I just guess it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be for him. Kelly got knocked down in the second round and almost looked like it would be all over soon after that; but he composed himself and started throwing big shots. It is definitely one of the best fights of the year. It was a lot of back and forth action making it hard to find a clear winner for the rounds....until the seventh round when a big flurry of punches started to find Taylor's face! Pavlik got Taylor in the corner and released a deadly barrage of punches leaving Jermaine Taylor slumped over on the ropes in the corner. The referee had no choice but to call the fight. Pavlik stuns the boxing world, except for me! I knew he would do it! Congrats Kelly Pavlik on becoming the new Middleweight World Champion!!!

Next fight we have is from Saturday Night where the newly crowned WBC Heavyweight Champion Samuel Peter had to fight veteran Jim McCline. I absolutely thought that Samuel Peter would show us a dominating performance and this fight would be over quickly...I was wrong! Jim McCline knocked down Peter at the end of the second round with a perfectly timed uppercut to the chin at the last second of the round. The next round had Peter on wobbly legs! He was knocked down two more times in the third round! Jim McCline failed to finish the job and Peter came back to win a tight decision and retain his championship belt. Jim McCline fought very well, but he is only a tier 2 fighter and there is no way that he should have had Peter in trouble so easily. So now, i think that Sam Peter's frail chin is finally exposed. He simply can't take a punch and my prediction is that he will lose to a tier 1 fighter very soon and never be heard from again. This is my prediction and it actually saddens me to say so. I have been watching his career for years on this site and I really thought he was the future of the Heavyweight division; but it is not so.....Look for him to lose if he fights another Tier 1 fighter such as a Klitschko or Ibragimov. Only time will tell...

The Last fight I have for you was one of the most boring Pay Per View fights of the year! It was supposed to be the exciting rematch between Manny Pacquiao vs Marco Antonio Barrera. It ended up being more of a chess match than the all out blood and guts war it was hyped up to be. Usually these fighters are very aggressive and throw a lot of punches and simply let it all hang out. Thank god I didn't purchase this fight! Manny Pacquiao won just about every round safely outboxing Barrera. He won a landslide decision victory and afterwards; Barrera announced his retirement from the sport of boxing. He will one day be a hall of fame boxer with over 70 professional fights under his belt. At the end of the day, he was getting old and could no longer take these warrior type of fights that he is known for. Pacquiao is a beast and is unstoppable. As long as he is boxing, he will most likely be the winner...He easily retains his Jr. Lightweight WBC championship Belt with this fight...

Hopkins Beats Winky Wright to Retain Light Heavyweight Championship!

This fight was held last weekend in Las Vegas. It was a decent fight all in all, and better than most people would have guessed. No one got really hurt throughout the fight, but winky suffered a headbutt gash above his right eye in the 2nd round. It bothered him through the rest of the fight. I do have one complaint with the fight and it is how Hopkins simply held for almost the entire fight. The referee should be in some serious trouble because he didn't deduct any points for this on-going offense. The holding was even blatant at times and simply in excess. By the end of the 11th round I had the whole fight tied up on my scorecard (one round I scored a tie 10-10). I thought that Hopkins definitely did enough to win the final round, so I would have given the fight to him as well. He won on all three judges scorecards by 116-112, 117-111, and 117-111. My scorecard (which was more realistic than the paid off judges in this fight) read 115-114 in favor of Hopkins...You can see the fight on demand on HBO if you have that good cable! Ya Dig!

Second Miami trip in less than a Year...

I told everyone I was going to go back to Miami again...It is such a beautiful place filled with beautiful people that I had to return. I went with wifey again (of course), and this time we stayed for a full week, which was plenty of time to hit the beach, get on some jet skis and eat the best damn food ever. I went to the same low-key hotel that Manolo from scarface actually stays at when he goes back to Miami to visit. It's called the Circa Hotel and you will remember it from my last visit. On this trip, my laptop broke, my digital camera broke, and budget rental car ripped me out of about $200...Even with all that kaos, it was still a great trip and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I got a new camera when I came back, and my laptop was replaced by my job (thank God). Well, I also managed to get some pics of some random bodies in the pool and on the beach...check em out...

Alfonzo Gomez TKO's Gatti into Retirement!

My favorite fighter on the show Contender Alfonzo Gomez knocked Arturo Gatti! It wasn't even a close fight...Gomez literally kicked his ass from the beginning. The knockout occured from a heavy right hand in the seventh round...Click here for the writeup...Gatti announced his retirement right after the fight...good riddens...

BOXING - Cotto KO's Judah In An AWSOME FIGHT!!!

This was one of the best fights I have seen in a very long time and all I can say is...LET'S SEE A REMATCH!!!!. Last night Zab Judah took on Miguel Cotto for one of the Welterweight Championship belts and this fight was FAR from disappointing. It was exciting, both fighters were in trouble, and both fighters were true warriors. My heart wanted Zab Judah to win, but my boxing knowledge knew that Miguel Cotto would really win. The fight was close, but Cotto was relentless with his assault and simply overwhelmed Judah with continuous barrages of punches. Both fighters had a chance to win and both fighters left the ring seriously BANGED UP (see above images)...This is what boxing is all about...Here is the fight breakdown brought to you by www.fightnews.com...

"WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (30-0, 25 KOs) scored an eleventh round TKO over Zab Judah (34-5, 25 KOs) in a wild back and forth classic on Saturday before a crowd of 20,658 at a sold out Madison Square Garden in New York City. In round one Judah hurt Cotto with an uppercut, Cotto put Judah on the deck with a low blow. Cotto was effective for most of round two, but was rocked again by Judah at the end of the round. Cotto continued the pressure in the third and another low blow put Judah down again. A point was deducted from Cotto. Cotto was bleeding from the mouth as Judah found a home for the left hand. Judah was cut over the right eye in the fourth as he was hammered by Cotto. Cotto was cut over the right eye in the sixth but wobbled Judah midway through the round. Judah opened up and hurt Cotto again in the seventh. Cotto was back on the attack in an exciting eighth. Judah's right eye was starting to close in the ninth and Judah took a knee to escape Cotto's assault. Cotto continued to brutalize Judah in the tenth. Judah was floored by a right hand in the eleventh and referee Arthur Mercante Jr. stopped the fight after Cotto's followup assault. Time was :49."....

In a year that has seen a disappointing and over-hyped Mayweather-De La Hoya fight fail to live up to expectations, Zab summed up the night's fireworks perfectly: "It was a beautiful night. It brought back boxing."

You Know I still been Gaming!!!

Wussup everyone...If you thought that I was just having a good time with my car and watching boxing and gave up on Gaming, then think again! I still get it in every so often. The newest game I have is Guitar Hero II, where you actually use a guitar (supplied) to play the songs on the screen. You don't actually play it, but its kind of like a simon says thing where you must keep up with the color codes on the screen. It is HIGHLY addicting. I actually purchased another guitar so my babygirl can play bass for me in cooperative mode. This game is truly Awsome!

The other game that has been getting very little of my time is Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2! The part 1 of this game I couldn't get enough of and I couldn't put it down. This game is as good, or possibly better than the first one, but I am just a little too busy to play it. I will start playing it again soon.....Maybe tonight, now that I think of it...It is a war game where you and 3 other soldiers take down terrorists. You are the leader and must give your teams orders in real time and kick some enemy ass. Really good graphics and definitely a solid title! Must buy for the war buffs.
