....AND IN BOXING NEWS.....

Pound-for-Pound King Floyd Mayweather will not get the opportunity to fight Golden Boy Oscar De LaHoya after all. Oscar says he needs to take more time off after his great victory over Mayorga and sustaining a few minor injuries. Personally, I think its because he knows he can't beat Floyd, so he is now backing out. I wonder who Mayweather Jr. will fight next? No one knows right now...Oscar has stated that if he does fight again, it will be Mayweather, but in early 2007. I won't hold my breath for it...

And now another BIIIIIG fight is finally underway in the Heavyweight division. We have both of my favorite heavyweights about to battle it out. I really don't know who is going to win this one. It is Knockout artist Samuel "Nigerian Nightmare" Peters (right) vs. ring savy James "lights out" Toney (left). This is going to be a truly marvelous fight with the young (25yrs old) Samuel Peters who has probably the hardest punch in boxing today vs the overweight, older (40-something yrs old), but still highly talented and elusive (even at such a big weight) James Toney. It's going to be good... Fight goes down Saturday September 2nd, Showtime at 10pm...
